What to pull together, in cold weather

I had to defrost my car this morning which means frost bitten fingers and numb noses. Goodbye sun, hello faux fur coats! The weather has finally come out of that silly limbo of constant uncertainty and has finally committed to coldness. I'm not a huge fan of cold coated mornings juxtaposed with sweltering afternoons, either be cold or hot, not both, thank you! I thought I'd give you a little look at an outfit I've been wearing now the temperature is sub zero!

This coat is without doubt my absolute favourite all time best one ever! It was a Mango purchase I made back in January, but, do not fret, you can still buy it at Mango's outlet store (which by the way is amazing and I implore you all to have a look at this bargain wonder). & Other Stories also have one that is pretty much identical. It does seem a lot of the coats I purchased last year and the year before have been restocked or only tweaked slightly for this season. I would say a lot of outerwear has a longer fast fashion shelf-life than other pieces in your wardrobe, so although the price-tag might be a little steeper for coats, it is a longer-term investment. I have been excited to get back into all of my old winter outerwear more-so than any other pieces in my wardrobe. Let me know if you would like to have a peak into my wardrobe in a blog post, my coat collection is hefty!

I thought I'd tie the look together with a slightly more vintage feel with the accessories. As a lover of headscarfs, I've been enjoying this more 1960's look of tying the scarf under the chin recently. I've been head over heels for Jane Fonda's headscarf look in the French thriller 'Joy House' there is one look in this film where she wears a polkadot scarf and she just looks sensational. I have also found it is incredibly good at keeping one's ears warm and keeps the hair in place during those winter gales.

I recently stocked up on some winter denim after doing a little wardrobe cleanse. I saw these super dark denim mom jeans from Zara and I was really drawn to the colour. I have one other pair of denim jeans from Zara I purchased last year that have withstood the test of time impeccably. So naturally after falling in love with the Zara's mom jeans fit I had to stock up on a few different washes. The length sits perfectly to wear with winter boots and darker coloured winter shoes, thank you Zara for delivering the goods as always!

Lastly, the shoes and bag. I won this awesome vintage Burberry on an eBay bid and it's just the perfect piece to make any wardrobe feel on-trend. The mega boom of the 00's revival is flooding our Instagram feeds and what better way to pay tribute to this era than an little bag sat under the armpit in the classic Burberry tartan. These shoes are a 'buy it now' pair I bought for a couple of pounds. I just really loved the super square toe, again, a wonderful nod to the 90's/00's.
