How to: Transitional Dressing - Skirts n' Knits

Updated: Oct 9, 2018

Dressing to accommodate for Mother Nature's temperamental moods this time of year is certainly a challenge, so for that reason we have another post ad'dressing' this issue.. see what I did there! Wearing a slightly smarter midi skirt with a casual cosy knit jumper is a combination I have always adored and now is the time to do it! It's cool enough to wear a warmer jumper without sweating one's titties off, but not cold enough for your little legs to be quaking in one's boots!

This H&M skirt has been a favourite purchase of this year, also bought in the sale for a propa' barg'! Unfortunately, I say with regret, it is no longer available but this Topshop skirt is almost an identical alternative. We are spoilt for choice this year with midi skirts across the high street, a simple ASOS search will give you a plethora of pleats, so here are a few I've been lusting after:

  1. ASOS

  2. Lily & Lionel

  3. Mango

  4. Warehouse

I wanted something that would be a complete juxtaposition to this soft pastel skirt. Electric blue came to mind in this Topshop boutique knit with it's statement sleeves, but any chunky knit or sweatshirt will do. My advise would be to always size up when buying knitwear if you like a more oversized fit. I like to have more fabric to play with; either rolling sleeves or tucking into waistbands, you can create loads of interesting silhouettes from just one piece. The thing that makes this look really pop is this faux fur scarf, same colour but different texture, and we like textures! I really want this one because not only does it fulfil my leopard print needs and desires, it also gives me the cosy fluffy vibes, and we love cosy!

To tie this whole look together I thought these fierce earrings with their little pop of blue would do the trick. I'm quickly growing a hefty collection of statement earrings and I'm so not sorry about it, they can make even the simplest of outfits seem put-together and chic. You stay sassy now, over and out xx
